About Funky Frog Bush School

The Heart Behind Funky Frog

– OUR STORY

Funky Frog Bush School was born from a love of the natural world and a belief that real growth happens outdoors.
Set on peaceful bushland at 1026 Comboyne Road, Cedar Party NSW, our small, family-run bush school invites children and adults to slow down, explore, and rediscover their connection with the earth.

What began as a simple idea — to give people space to breathe and play — has grown into a thriving community of nature lovers, families, educators and carers from across the Mid North Coast. Every session is an opportunity to learn, laugh, and find a little bit of magic in the mud.

Guided by the Wisdom of the Bush

– OUR PHILOSOPHY

At Funky Frog, we believe nature is our greatest teacher. The bush is more than a backdrop — it’s a living, breathing classroom that inspires creativity, independence and resilience.

Our sessions are guided by the Forest School ethos, where learning unfolds naturally through play, curiosity and exploration. We value hands-on discovery, meaningful connection, and the slow seasonal rhythms that help children and adults alike build confidence and respect for the environment.

Risk-taking, teamwork and sensory exploration are all encouraged — because real learning happens when we get muddy, make mistakes, and try again.

How We Bring Learning to Life

- OUR APPROACH

Each Funky Frog session is carefully planned yet gently led. We follow the interests of our participants, adapting activities to suit different ages, abilities and needs.
From bushcraft and mindfulness to campfire cooking and nature art, our programs are inclusive, safe and designed to nurture wellbeing in every sense.

Our aim is simple — to create a welcoming space where everyone can connect, learn and belong.

Meet the Team

  • Judith

    Founder & Forest School Leader

After qualifying as a Level 3 Forest School Leader in the Wyre Forest, England, Judith returned home to Cedar Party with a dream to help others reconnect with nature. She combines her background in early childhood education and wellbeing with a deep love of the bush to create sessions that are calm, creative and full of wonder.
